ESL Pro League
Not only are these tournaments vital parts of the Intel Grand Slam, but they are also quite important on their own. Alongside ECS (which just sports two regions, NA and EU), ESL Pro League is the only top-tier international CSGO league out there. The format of this competition looks much like what you’d come to expect from NBA or NHL. Regular seasons are played in a round-robin league format with only the top teams from five regions earn their spot in the finals.
Europe, North America, South America, Oceania, and Asia are ESL Pro League’s regions. EU has seven finalists, NA has six, and SA, Oceania, and Asia just one. That brings the total count to 16 teams, all of which have their eyes set at the grand prize. ECS
Similarly to ESL Pro League, ECS (short for Esports Championship Series) is another league-like CSGO competition that’s been rocking the pro scene for a couple of years already. Once again, similarly to ESL Pro League, ECS is also a biannual tournament. Both regular season and finals of ECS and ESL Pro League are played right next to each other, with finals being separated by just a week or two.
The main difference between the two is the fact ECS only sports NA and EU teams. This has been so from the very start and will never change as long as this series is still breathing. ECS tournaments have become the go-to event for the fiercest rivalry in today’s CSGO pro scene. EU and NA teams have been at each other’s necks ever since CSGO pro scene came to existence. And it doesn’t seem like it will end anytime soon, especially with the rise of Team Liquid.
As for ECS Leagues, the contenders are decided based off previous ECS Leagues as well as Challenger Cups. Each ECS League (NA and EU) has ten teams with just the top four earning their ticket to the Finals. 5th to 8th placed teams are eligible for the next iteration of ECS Leagues while the bottom two teams will have to fight their way through the Challengers Cups.

StarSeries & i-League
The StarSeries & i-League (formerly known as StarLadder & i-League StarSeries) tournaments are a hectic bunch. They’ve kicked off their road to fame back in May 2016 with the first-ever StarSeries & i-League Invitational I.
